Overview: EXACT Sports is a scrappy growth-stage company that provides superior athletic technology tools (e.g. Mental Skills App: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mental-skills/id1536332898) and interactive event programming (e.g. the Academic 50 ID Camp) to our elite youth sports participants. As a small, yet passionate group of advocates for athletes and coaches, we are highly collaborative in pursuit of our mission -- to help individuals #GoMental. Role Details:
The Controller is accountable for both the financial metrics and operational KPIs of EXACT, including the oversight of our financial reporting, identifying and tracking relevant KPIs, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems. As the sole person leading financial data & analysis at our small company, you must be willing to get your 'hands dirty'.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in audit, financial reporting, and operational efficiency roles with a can-do mindset.
Responsibilities: The controller's role is broad in nature, but typically includes the following:
- Assist in formulating the company’s future direction through providing input on the company’s business plan, financial and tax strategies, budgeting, and forecasting
- Develop performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction
- Manage any freelancer / part-time assistance in data analysis & reporting
- Manage the company’s transaction processing systems, which include reconciling data for accuracy
- Support in compensation strategies and HR benefits administration
- Report financial results and KPIs on a highly frequent basis
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, operations, research, statistics, math, economics, or related analytical discipline preferred
- Multiple years of progressively responsible experience in aggressively supporting the growth of company through insightful metrics/OKRs and operational improvement
- Advanced spreadsheet & financial software proficiency. Practical experience building and maintaining financial models
- Willingness to challenge the status quo with a “big picture” mentality
- Excellent verbal & written communication
